I am an attorney certified by the California State Bar as a Family Law Specialist. I graduated from Stanford University in 1965 and Stanford Law School in 1968. I have been practicing in the Sacramento area over 40 years and have personally represented over two thousand clients on matters involving more than $60,000,000. As a family lawyer, I handle divorces (dissolutions of marriage), child custody matters, spousal support motions, child support motions, property division, dissolution of civil unions, preparation of orders dividing retirement plans (QDROs and DROs), and domestic violence. I handle hearings and trials. I have taught continuing education classes about family law to lawyers. I regularly represent clients in Sacramento County, Placer County, and El Dorado County. I also have represented clients in Marin County, Tulare County, San Joaquin County, Yolo County, the City and County of San Francisco, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, Fresno County, Orange County, Yuba County, Sutter County, and Lake County. I have mediated in Wisconsin, arbitrated in Connecticut, and tried a case in the South Carolina federal court. I also have appeared in the Federal Eastern District Court of California and the Central District Court of California. I belong to the American Bar Association Family Law Section, the California State Bar Association Family Law Section, and the Sacramento County Bar Association Family Law Section. I also belong to the Consumer Attorneys of California. I have been published in the Sacramento County Bar Association Family Law Section publication.
